Is it only weak people who need to talk? Some people think you're inadequate if you want to talk things over with a neutral but helpful person. Maybe they've never met anything that really taxed them - or have forgotten how much it hurt.

The fact is that everybody sometimes hits situations which are hard to handle - and talking it over helps to get a better perspective and to work out what's best to do. Bottling it up is usually the worst option - you feel bad, you can't work out what to do, and you don't get any help. But it isn't easy to get yourself to start talking, because you both want to talk & want to keep it to yourself in case people laugh at you. So how do you choose the right person to talk to?
